How to Chose the Right English Certification TESOL / TEFL / CELTA...
English Language Learning seems to be a simple enough concept. Why are so many companies popping up on the internet that offer certifications? You may have seen some of them. The certifications range from varius names like CELTA, Trinity, TESOL, TEFL, ESL, and the list seems to go on and on. Well, I discovered an easy way to find out which one you should chose from, but Im not sure it’s the 100% garuantee correct way. First, find out where you would like to teach. Obviously as an ESL instructor you are probably interested in going somewhere, anywhere, just seeing different countries, who knows. Then, once you have decided on a place, look up some schools that are higher English instructors. Then look at what credentials are required. If they are telling you that a Masters Degree is necessary, which most times not, then get one. If they say you need to be certified…well…then make sure to contact them and see exactly what the name of the certification is or who it need to sbe accredited through. Accreditation is what matters these days. If those don’t satisfy and you have already jumped into the certifications and Masters without thinking it through, like me, then use what you have as some leverage to get people wanting to speak with you. Below are some of the websites I have visited and seen feedback from so far; some sites are not even legitimately helping, they can be old or changed their domain. Be careful and always call to speak with a live representative who can explain how the whole thing works.
